New Delhi. Tata Motors has finally taken the wraps off its new EV. Tata Motors has today launched its electric car Tigor EV in India. The country’s leading automaker Tata Motors released a teaser of the electric version of the Tigor. At the same time, the electric avatar of the company’s premium hatchback Altroz ​​also remains a matter of discussion.

The Tata Tigor EV has been announced after the launch of the Nexon EV last year. You can prebook the new EV from Tata Motors dealerships. The Tigor EV can be booked at select dealerships for ₹ 21,000. The car has been launched in Teal Blue colour.

Know the specialty
The Tigor EV delivers a peak power output of 55 kW and peak torque of 170 Nm. It accelerates from 0 to 60 kmph in 5.7 seconds. It comes with a 26 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The Tigor EV gets an IP 67 rated battery pack and motor to make it weatherproof and comes with a battery and motor warranty of 8 years and 160,000 km. It is based on a platform with rear crash compatible structure and also complies with ODB 64 test standard.

The Tata Tigor EV can be bought by private owners and will use the same Ziptron powertrain that powers the Nexon EV as well. However, the power is expected to be closer to 100 hp while the battery pack remains the same at 30.2kWh capacity. The new Tigor EV will also have fast charging capabilities for better convenience of the customers.

Can be fast-charging as well as slow-charging
Tata Motors is also working on the Altroz ​​EV. Tata’s Ziptronic electric powertrain will be used for this car as well. The new Tigor EV is compatible with the globally accepted CCS2 charging protocol and can be fast-charged as well as slow-charged from any 15A plug point.
