Parliament Monsoon Session Live Update: This is the last week of the Parliament Monsoon Session. This session will end on August 13, but due to the uproar of the opposition, the proceedings have been disrupted continuously till now. On the issue of Pegasus scandal and farm laws, the opposition has taken an aggressive stand and due to its protests, the functioning of both the houses is not being done. On Monday, when the proceedings of the Lok Sabha started, the opposition MPs started creating a ruckus, as a result the proceedings had to be adjourned till 11:30 and again till 12:30 and again at 12:30. Had to be postponed till 2 o’clock.

When the Rajya Sabha proceedings began in the morning, Chairman Venkaiah Naidu mentioned Neeraj Chopra’s golden achievement in the Tokyo Olympics. He said that Neeraj won the javelin throw gold for India in the Olympics with the best throw, while wrestler Bajrang Punia won the bronze medal despite a knee injury. He said that the Indian contingent that participated in the Olympics has provided the best Olympic moments for the country. He said that notices under Rule 267 have been received from many MPs on Pegasus and other issues. I have already asked for discussion on these issues, let us discuss this issue. Speaker Om Birla referred to the completion of 79 years of the Quit India Movement of 1942 when the proceedings of the Lok Sabha began on Monday morning and said that it was one of the most important events of India’s independence movement. With the slogan ‘Do or Die’ it became a mass movement and the whole country united to get rid of British slavery. He said that we should unite and work together to maintain the sovereignty and integrity of the country. The House observed silence for a few moments and paid tribute to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and all the martyrs. Mention of winning the gold medal. He said that this has created an atmosphere of euphoria in the country. He also mentioned about Bajrang Punia winning a bronze medal in wrestling. Birla congratulated the players on behalf of himself and the House. The Constitution (127th Amendment) Bill 2021 was introduced in the Lok Sabha amidst the uproar of the opposition.
Congress MPs protest against agriculture law
Earlier, Lok Sabha MPs from Punjab Congress demonstrated against the new agricultural laws in front of the Gandhi statue. Manish Tewari said that the government is not ready to listen to the farmers. We demand that the issue of farmers should be stopped by stopping the proceedings in the Lok Sabha.
