New Delhi. After the occupation of Taliban in Afghanistan, Pakistan is engaged in helping it in one way or the other. Under this, the Pakistan government on Wednesday released Taliban terrorist Mullah Mohammad Rasool. Mullah was lodged in a Pakistani jail for the last five years. Mullah Rasool was arrested in March 2016 in Balochistan province.

According to media reports, Mullah is a well-known name of the Taliban. But he formed his own organization in opposition to Mullah Akhtar Mansoor becoming the Taliban chief. After this, Pakistan imprisoned him and caught him and put him in jail. Since then he was in captivity.

According to media reports, in November 2015, at a meeting of Taliban fighters in western Farah province, Rasool was assumed to be the leader of a separate group. Fighters backing Rasool accused Mansoor of acting at the behest of Pakistan out of personal greed. After the death of Taliban founder Mullah Omar, both Rasool and Mansoor claimed leadership of the Taliban.

The group led by Rasool opposed peace talks with the Afghan government. Mansoor was accused of hiding the death of Mullah Omar. The founder of the Taliban, Omar, was killed in 2013. His death was kept a secret for two years.
