For the time being, India will wait for the formalization of a government structure under the Taliban regime. The situation in Afghanistan has worsened after the Taliban took control.

At the same time, the Ministry of External Affairs says that the Government of India is committed to the safe return of all Indian citizens from Afghanistan and to start flight arrangements after the Kabul airport opens for commercial operation. In view of the current situation, the employees of the Embassy in Kabul were brought to India in two phases. On Tuesday, the ambassador and all other employees had reached Delhi.
