Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is likely to inaugurate the national capital’s first smog tower at Connaught Place on August 23. Delhi government officials gave this information on Friday. An official said on condition of anonymity that the construction of the smog tower has been completed and the inauguration will be done on August 23 instead of August 15.
To improve the air quality within one kilometer of the area, the construction of about 20 meters high tower was earlier to be done by June 15. Environment Minister Gopal Rai had said that due to the Kovid-19 epidemic, the construction work of the smog tower has been delayed. In October last year, the Delhi government’s cabinet had given green signal to a pilot project in this regard.
