Alok often used to watch Nana Patekar’s films. He likes his style of acting. They started copying his dialogues at weddings. He has always looked up to Nana Patekar as his mentor.
Talking about his struggling days, Alok says that when I decided that I want to become an actor, I thought that this art should be learned properly first. That’s why I went to the National School of Drama to hone my acting skills.
Alok used to think that after training from NSD, he would get work immediately, but it did not happen. They believe that there is hard work and struggle in TV and other media related fields as well, but the cinema world demands a lot of your hard work and loyalty from you. Being a screen actor, he understands that it is important to keep honing his acting. For this reason, he also teaches acting.
The turning point in the actor’s life came when he acted in a short film directed by Imtiaz Ali in 2014. The casting director of this film is Mukesh Chhabra, who has been the casting director of many of Alok’s films like Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Kai Po Che, Tubelight, Love Yatri. If Corona had not come, you would have seen one of the biggest projects of his career. He is going to be seen in a negative role in the film ‘Haathi Mere Saathi’ with Rana Daggubati. It is based on the subject of the old film ‘Haathi Mere Saathi’, which depicts the relationship between an elephant and a human. Apart from this, he is also going to be seen in ‘Godse @ Gandhi.com’.
Giving advice to the newcomer, Alok says, ‘I want to tell him that if you want to act in Mumbai, then you have to work very hard. The more loyal you are to the work, the more loyal the work will be to you. Mumbai finds you and gives you work, but it is only for those who do the work faithfully.
