300 Sikhs and some Hindus have taken refuge in Parwan Gurdwara due to Kabul. Gurnam Singh, president of the Gurdwara committee, said in a statement that some local Taliban leaders met representatives of Sikhs and Hindus and asked them not to leave the country.

Kabul. After the Taliban occupation in Afghanistan, the situation looks dire. People are running here and there after saving their lives and are trying to get out of Afghanistan at any cost. There is an atmosphere of chaos all around. Meanwhile, at least 300 Sikhs and some Hindus from Kabul, Ghazni and Jalalabad have taken refuge in the Karte Parwan Gurdwara.

Gurnam Singh, president of the Gurdwara committee, said in a statement that some local Taliban leaders met representatives of Sikhs and Hindus and asked them not to leave the country. At the same time, it is being told in media reports quoting sources that Taliban leaders had asked to put up a white flag outside the gurdwara to indicate that the gurdwara is under Taliban protection.

Gurnam Singh further said, “The Taliban leaders assured security to our families. We hope they keep their word. According to the information, the remaining five Sikh shrines located in Afghanistan and two Hindu temples in Kabul are closed. Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee chief Manjinder Sirsa said that he is in touch with the head of the Kabul Gurdwara panel.
